I’d heard of this from some LA friends, but forgot about it. After Pat Dubar left Uniform Choice (after the awesome Staring Into the Sun LP) for Mindfunk, UC continued as an alternative band. A random comment on a blog confirmed it with a link to this MySpace. Damn. “I am U are” sounds, wells not as cool as on Staring Into the Sun, but cool anyway.
And if you don’t like Staring Into the Sun, well your loss man, it sounds like Dag Nasty, but some insecure purists can’t get past the long hair.

No, you’re right I can’t get past the sheer energy of that first record nor the long hair. Dag Nasty is way better than any post Screaming For Change.
